These are superfoods I have tried that I use regularly! I thought I would share them with you, so if you see it at the super market, you'll know what it is and can make the educated decision on a purchase!

Diatomaceous Earth (food grade)

What is it?
diatomite, a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder.
What are the benefits?
natural source of silica- which promotes shiny and strong hair, skin, nails and bones (okay not the shiny part for this one). silica is a main component in collagen, which is thought to keep things (skin) taught!
Natural Pesticide- use as an organic pest control! In your home and in your body!!
It kills parasites that like to live in our bodies ( pinworms are actually more common than lice- but no one ever talks about pinworms because it has to do with our....butt.)
as well as in our home (bed bugs? sprinkle D.E., aphids in your garden? D.E.!, ants and roaches crawling all over? D.E! fleas on your pets? D.E!. rodents? D.E mixed with essential oils! ) the uses are endless!
If you google "food grade D.E. benefits" you will find TONS of articles!
Where do I get it/how much $$?
D.E. is pretty fairly priced!! 20 dollars for..... 10 POUNDS of the stuff.
its worth repeating
FOOD GRADE. MAKE SURE TO BUY FOOD GRADE D.E.
How can I include it in my diet?
instead of buying expensive collagen pills, add in a teaspoon of D.E. into your morning smoothie! can also mix with water and take like a shot!
Cacao Powder

yes, CHOCOLATE! You know all those studies that look at the health benefits of chocolate? They're looking at THIS.
Whats the difference between cocoa and cacao?
cocoa, the beans have been ROASTED first and are very processed, while cacao is raw and not roasted and is milled at a low temperature.
What are the benefits?

Where do i get it/how much $$?
A little bit expensive, but not terrible! It tends to last you a while- I use it every morning and it last me a couple months with an 8 oz bag.
How can I include it in my diet?
I use in smoothies, chia seed puddings, homemade chocolate sauce, barbecue sauces (homemade), etc!!!

small seeds that when they get mixed with a liquid, absorb and expand.
What are the benefits?

1 oz = 2 Tablespoons
high in antioxidants
almost all the carbs are fiber
high in protein for a plant food
omega 3 fatty acids!!!
because it is a gelatinous food, its good with "detoxing" ! It is thought that they help "grab" toxins and together they exit the body. (HungryForChange)

jazz up your water with freshly squeezed lemon, salad dressings (olive oil, lemon juice and apple cider vinegar- delicious!), in your cooking, or you could even eat it like a orange if you really wanted to (I wouldn't do this too often tho bc it is very acidic to your poor mouth and teeth)
